Get the tune!The Princess Royal

A1, A2 Once-To-Yourself. All six move up at end with two half capers, First two continue dancing.
A3 First pair: Two sets of double steps, two half capers, two sets of double steps, two half capers moving to bottom of set. Rest of dancers join in with last two half capers and move up set.
A4 Second pair of dancers continue as per the first pair, moving to bottom at the end.
A5 Third pair of dancers continue as per the first pair, moving to bottom at the end.
B1 Chorus: Everone turns to face into the set, long sidesteps left and right, whole hey. In the last part of the hey the shuffles and plain capers are replaced with half capers. this means that the small grouping in the middle does not occur, the movement is more like a final hey at the end of a dance.
A6 to A8 Second figure: same as the first except that the double steps are replaced with short sidesteps left and right.
B2 Chorus: same as above.
C1 to C3 Third figure: four squash-beetle slows, sidesteps left and right, two half capers moving to bottom of set. Each pair performs in turn as normal.
B3 Chorus: same as above.

It has become common recently - though not exclusive - to make the second figure squash-beetle slows and the third upright slows. The sidestep figure is omitted.
